After the Lithium-ion, Will There Lithium-Air Batteries

After the Lithium-ion, Will There Lithium-Air Batteries - Students at Cambridge University are developing new battery Lithium-ios natural successor named Lithium-Air.

If air and water into a source of life for many people, the battery becomes a source of life for many devices, especially mobile phones. Batteries are the most widely used by mobile phones today are Lithium-Ion and Lithium-Polymer. But in the future there will be a Lithium-Air battery.

Lithium-Air, according to information reported by Ubergizmo, Friday (10/30/2015) developed by Tao Liu, Clare P. Grey and his colleagues at the University of Cambridge, UK and became the natural successor Li-ion battery. These batteries mentioned do not carry 10 times the theoretical energy density of Li-ion. But for now Lithium-air batteries is still not stable enough for everyday use. These batteries still have some problems, especially on the level of discharge and low energy efficiency. These batteries also only be operated in an environment that has pure oxygen so it is not too practical use.

Cambridge University continues to develop it by adding some stability and efficiency by incorporating lithium iodide and hairy carbon electrodes made of graphene sheets.
