A9 chipset in the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus iPhone last year produced by two companies, namely Samsung and TSMC. But this year the production quota Apple A10 seems to be left entirely to TSMC, at least that's the report from ETNews reported by MacRumors.
There are several considerations that make Apple decides it. First, TSMC will manufacture A10 with 10nm manufacturing process. Both TSMC has packaging techniques more sophisticated devices that performance chipset is faster and more efficient in power consumption.
