Phones that can be folded we've heard so far, mostly from the South Korean company, Samsung. This one company has several times registered patents related to mobile phones fold.
As is the case today, the US Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) has just published a Samsung patents related to mobile folding. Folding mobile phone is more like a book, so different from Samsung's patented folding phones as we know.
Interestingly, this phone is integrated with a holographic projector unit and which may make the phone can display stereoscopic images (3D images) in the air using the interference of light as we often see in the movies sci-fi.
While the projector itself can project images onto a screen located inside or outside the device. Although unfortunately it is not clear how users can use this feature because the patent does not explain it.
But do not expect this phone will actually exist in real life. The reason is, because of the many folding smartphone patents owned by Samsung, none have been released to the market.
