The years passed, but Samsung's position in the top spot in the smartphone industry remains unwavering. Even at the end of 2015, from 331.9 million smartphones shipped during the last quarter, Samsung is still the number one brand with the highest sales in the smartphone industry. This information is based on the company's latest reports Digitimes Research.
Of the 15 companies existing smartphones in the report, it turns out the company from China dominate the market. There are at least nine companies coming from China that are in the top 15, while the United States and South Korea only 2, then 1 for each of Japan and Taiwan.
For the distribution of market share, this quarter, Samsung had a market share of 25.6%, followed by rival Apple with 14.5%. Huawei is in the third position with 7.4% market share, followed by Lenovo with 4.8%. LG shadowing Lenovo with 4.5% market share. Xiaomi was in sixth position with a market share of 3.8%. Meanwhile Sony seems to be satisfied with 11th position with a market share of 2%, while Microsoft was in the 12th position with a market share of 1.7%.
