JDI is one of the largest LCD panel supplier in the world, and became one of the LCD display supplier for Apple. However, in the display industry, JDI technology is still not able to compete with Samsung and LG are already making OLED screens (using AMOLED brand). JDI addition, Sharp also from Japan is also a supplier of LCD screens for Apple.
Unfortunately, both Sharp and JDI still do not have a OLED display products. While on the other hand Apple will begin to switch to using OLED screens for the next iPhone that reportedly will be conducted in 2018. If Sharp and JDI no hurry to make an OLED display, then the supply of the next iPhone screen 8 may be taken entirely from LG which is still one display supplier for Apple.
In this regard, JDI apparently still has not given up on no less than Samsung and LG. Company results of a joint venture between Sony, Hitachi and Toshiba was reported by a Japanese newspaper Nikkan are discussing cooperation with Apple related premises supply of OLED screens for the iPhone in 2018, as reported from Gforgames, Monday (07/12/2015).
