So far Xiaomi still use LCD screens for smartphones made, just as Apple is still maintaining the same screen. But Xiaomi seems to initiate a step ahead of Apple as the company is reportedly in talks with LG to supply OLED display, reported by Digitimes, Tuesday (10/11/2015).

Reported that LG Display and Xiaomi is in talks to make a deal related to the production of OLED panels by LG for Xiaomi, during the second quarter of 2016. Mentioned by the source that the agreement would be agreed upon by the two companies later this year.
LG Display is itself a separate division of LG Electronics. This division produces the screen is not just for the parent company, but also other companies. With this deal, the latest smartphone range Xiaomi may be using OLED panels for mobile. But it is uncertain whether the Xiaomi Mi 5 will use an OLED screen or still retain the LCD screen.
