Today through the official Chrome blog on Monday (02/11/2015), Google wrote a post which rejects reports that say that Google plans to combine Chrome OS to Android.
This rebuttal submitted by a Google executive, Hiroshi Lockheimer which explicitly states that Chrome OS will still be OS independent. He wrote "Over the last few days, there was some confusion about the future of Chrome OS and Chromebook is based on speculation that Chrome OS will be merged with Android. While we have been working on ways to bring together the best of both operating systems, there are no plans to abolish the Chrome OS. "
Lockheimer said that they will remain committed to Chrome OS, and demonstrates the commitment to discuss a wide range of products based Google Chrome OS that has been their previous releases. It also discusses some of the future plans related to the update of Chrome OS.
