LG next-generation chipset, Nuclun 2 will be produced by one of the two semiconductor companies namely Intel and TSMC. According to a new report from benchmark testing revealed that turns Nuclun 2 chipset manufactured by Intel superior to Nuclun 2 chipset manufactured by TSMC.
Reporting from Gforgames, Monday (16/11/2015) by the Geekbench benchmark testing showed that Nuclun 2 variants of Intel scored 1.980 for single-core test, while TSMC scored 1,721. Similarly, the multi-core test where Nuclun 2 variants of Intel are superior with a score of 6689 compared with 2 variants TSMC Nuclun who scored 5.710. It makes the difference between the two is their production process, which uses Intel's 14nm process, while using the TSMC 16nm process.
With this benchmark result is likely LG would prefer Intel chipsets to produce them. News of the cooperation both in fact had already been heard. Intel will reportedly produce Nuclun 2 using big.LITTLE architecture that contains a CPU quad-core Cortex-A72 and quad-core Cortex-A53.
However, it should be noted, LG itself has not announced it would collaborate with anyone. With the possibility of other factors to consider, maybe LG prefer to entrust the production of the chipset to other companies.
