Since Xiaomi launched their latest handset, Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, many people would wish to buy this phone. However, it seems that consumers in India had to swallow disappointment because the phone is not likely to be present in the Bollywood State. Why?
For those of you who still remember, the first Xiaomi must deal with the law in India because sued by Ericsson for patent infringement relating to the standard of 3G, EDGE and AMR (adaptive multi-rate). Indian court ruled that Xiaomi banned cell phone market in India for a while. But after some time, Xiaomi is allowed to market a cell phone with a note, "only for Snapdragon-powered mobile phones alone". While phones that use other chipsets such as MediaTek, Leadcore or other chipset manufacturers are prohibited distributed or marketed in India.
So, even though the demand for Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 in India is very high, Xiaomi still not be able to market these phones except Xiaomi create a special version for India which uses a Snapdragon chipset.
Xiaomi related rumors Redmi Note 2 version of Snapdragon was indeed had heard earlier this month, which will make Xiaomi Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 by implanting 615 Snapdragon chipset which is likely intended specifically for the Indian market. But apparently, Redmi Note 2 Snapdragon 615 version did not participate was launched on 13 August.
Unless Xiaomi released Snapdragon 615 version of Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 at some point in the future, or Xiaomi appeal back, then Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 will not be present in the country. Consumers are able to afford it, but must go through the store onlineluar like Gearbest or Oppomart. That is, if the import or excise policy in India does not forbid its citizens to buy cell phones from the outside.
